This program has fundamentally changed the solar industry in Alberta by providing a unique rate structure that fast-tracks the solar return on investment. With seasonal rates that account for changes in solar generation, the Solar Club continues to drive investment in solar across the province.
Spot Power continues to advocate for consumers by lobbying the government and has successfully pushed for changes to the Local Access Fee calculation. These efforts resulted in a legislative change that deindexed the Local Access Fee from the former Regulated Rate Option (RRO), forcing municipalities like the City of Calgary to rethink the collection of hundreds of millions of dollars.
